Home Plus DPA Program Raises Assistance Cap to 5.5%

Arizona's Home Plus down-payment assistance program increased its assistance cap, allowing PRC clients to secure larger grants toward closing costs and down payments.

Arizona's Home Plus down-payment assistance program has increased its assistance cap from 5% to 5.5% of the loan amount, effective for loans closed on or after April 1, 2026. The change allows PRC clients to secure larger grants toward closing costs and down payments — reducing the cash-to-close barrier that most first-time buyers face.

Home Plus is the most widely used down-payment assistance program in Arizona, available to first-time and repeat buyers who meet income and purchase price limits. PRC's Homeownership Counselors are HUD-certified and guide every client through eligibility screening, lender referral, and the full application process.

Since PRC began formally navigating the Home Plus program in 2022, our clients have secured more than $3.2 million in combined down-payment assistance. The new 5.5% cap is expected to add an average of $2,400 per transaction for clients at current Phoenix-area median purchase prices.
